hold auditions for children’s roles

NEWPORT: Island Moving Co. will hold auditions for children’s roles in its holiday production Newport Nutcracker at Rosecliff on Saturday, September 10th at Island Moving Co.’s studios at 3 Charles St. in Newport, RI. Auditions will be at 1:30pm for children ages 8-11 and at 4pm for children 12 and up.
Candidates are asked to arrive one half hour before the audition time. The Newport Nutcracker at Rosecliff is a full-length ballet set in the beautiful surroundings of Rosecliff mansion on Bellevue Avenue in Newport.
The children’s cast works closely with the professional performers of the Island Moving Co. New York Times critic Alastair Macaulay wrote about Miki Ohlsen’s unique vision of the holiday classic in his 2010 “Nutcracker Marathon.” The Newport Nutcracker at Rosecliff was also featured on Good Morning America’s Christmas Day broadcast.
Performances run from November 25th to December 2nd. Auditions will be in the form of a ballet class.
All children should have ballet training and be dressed appropriately for ballet class. There will be an audition fee of $25.

KITTERY/PORTSMOUTH (NH): I have an immediate need for a woman in her 20s to play two small but important roles in a show rehearsing late August-September and going up October 7-23 in both Portland and Portsmouth. Rehearsals are in Kittery/Portsmouth area. Southern accent, sweet manner, playing a "rodeo groupie" and a lost love. Compensation will be an even split of the gate with cast and crew.

St Louis | Endless Forest Nutcracker Children’s Cast Auditions

Endless Forest Nutcracker Children’s Cast Auditions–Sunday, October 9th
Casting location: St. Louis, MO
The Endless Forest Nutcracker is a heartwarming and creative rendition of the traditional holiday ballet, and is presented by Common Thread Productions in conjunction with Dance Project Saint Louis. It is based upon Tale of Tales’ interactive MMO/screensaver “The Endless Forest,” in which players become deer in a magical forest.

This year’s performances will be on December 17th at the Pillsbury Chapel and Dale Williams Fine Arts Center at Missouri Baptist University.

Please arrive 30 minutes ahead of time to register. Audition times are:
Ages 5 to 8–1:00 pm to 2:00 pm
Ages 9 to 12–2:00 pm to 3:00 pm
Ages 13 and up–3:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Girls–wear solid color leotard and tights, pink ballet shoes, and bring pointe shoes if you are a pointe student.
Boys–wear white t-shirt, tights or dance pants, and black ballet shoes.

Rehearsals will be held at Dance Project Saint Louis beginning Sunday, October 16th. Participants will be advised of their rehearsal schedules in the week after auditions. All roles will have their own rehearsal times.

Choreography is by Jennifer Medina, Artistic Director of Common Thread Contemporary Dance Company; Deborah Fahnestock, Assistant Director of Dance Project Saint Louis; and Tyrone Brooks, former Principal Dancer at Dance Theater of Harlem.

This play, through Grady Memorial Hospital and Avon, is in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. This is a great play about women in the Bible and Egyptian Queens. Come be a part of an amazing ensemble and gain exposure at the same time. This play will be attended by several individuals in the television industry.
